What we are called for

  • A new gas applianceA gas range, dryer, fireplace insert, patio heater or tankless water heater that needs a line run to it.
  • A remodelMoving the range to an island, adding a gas fireplace, or relocating the water heater.
  • A smell of gasLeave the house, call Puget Sound Energy’s emergency line, then call us for the repair once the utility has made it safe.
  • An old or corroded lineRusted black iron, a failed flex connector, or a line that no longer passes a pressure test.
  • A conversionElectric to gas for a range or a water heater, with the line run from the meter.

How gas work is done

We size the line from the meter to the appliance for the load it will carry, including anything you might add later. Black iron or approved CSST is run and supported, with a shut-off and sediment trap at each appliance. The system is pressure-tested, the permit inspected, and only then is gas turned on and the appliance fired and checked.

If the meter cannot supply the new load, we coordinate the upgrade with Puget Sound Energy.

Is a permit needed for a gas line in Seattle?

Yes. Gas piping work is permitted and inspected. We pull the permit and meet the inspector.

Can you run a gas line to a BBQ or fire pit?

Ask us. Outdoor runs depend on the route from the meter and local rules; we will confirm during the estimate.
