Gas appliance hookups

A new gas range, dryer, fireplace insert or tankless water heater needs a proper connection: the right connector, a shut-off valve, a sediment trap and a leak test. We do the hookup, and the line to it if there is not one yet.

Appliances we connect

Ranges to water heaters

  • Ranges and cooktopsIncluding a new line to an island during a kitchen remodel.
  • DryersOften a conversion from electric, with a new branch from the nearest line.
  • Fireplace inserts and log setsLine and shut-off to the firebox, ready for the fireplace installer.
  • Tankless and tank water heatersSized line, connector, sediment trap and test, as part of the heater install.
  • Furnaces and outdoor appliancesThe gas supply and shut-off; ask us about outdoor runs.

What a hookup involves

A dedicated shut-off valve at the appliance, a sediment trap (drip leg) where required, an approved flexible connector of the right size, and a leak test of every joint before and after the appliance is fired. If the existing line cannot carry the new load, we tell you before the work starts.

Licensed, local, and on the record

Can the appliance store connect my gas range?

Many will not, and in Seattle gas connections should be done by a licensed plumber. We do it with a shut-off and a leak test, which is what the delivery crew cannot.

Do you handle the fireplace itself?

We run the gas line and shut-off to the firebox. The fireplace installer sets the insert and connects to our valve.
